Abstract
Expanding digital payment systems is vital for advancing financial inclusion, particularly in developing nations like Bangladesh, where a significant proportion of the population remains unbanked or underbanked. This research investigates how data-driven decision-making can analyze consumer behavior to accelerate the adoption of digital payment systems. With advancements in mobile technology and fintech, digital payment platforms such as mobile wallets, mobile money, and online bank transfers offer critical avenues for bridging financial gaps, enabling access to essential financial services for underserved populations. However, adoption rates across socio-economic segments remain uneven, necessitating a deeper understanding of consumer behavior. Using large-scale data from transaction records and mobile usage patterns, the study identifies key drivers of digital payment adoption, such as technological readiness, trust in digital platforms, financial literacy, and perceived barriers like limited internet access and security concerns. Special attention is given to consumer segments such as rural populations, women, and low-income groups. Advanced data analytics methods uncover usage patterns and consumer preferences that can inform strategic interventions. The research also demonstrates how data-driven insights empower policymakers, financial institutions, and fintech companies to design personalized strategies to boost digital payment adoption. Examples include utilizing transaction data to enhance mobile network infrastructure in underserved areas or addressing privacy concerns through improved authentication systems and educational campaigns. The study further explores integrating mobile money services and digital wallets into the financial ecosystem to ensure interoperability among platforms and financial institutions, fostering seamless transactions. Collaboration among stakeholders, including banks, mobile network operators, and fintech firms, is emphasized to create an inclusive digital payment environment. This collaboration aims to address barriers to adoption, enhance user experiences, and promote innovative financial solutions. The research concludes with actionable recommendations for utilizing data analytics to strengthen infrastructure, promote digital literacy, and develop inclusive financial products, ultimately making digital payment systems a pivotal tool for financial empowerment and poverty reduction in Bangladesh.
