This is a topic many people don’t take seriously. But it has significance in Islam as a follower of this religion, I strongly believe that this topic should be discussed more. In this 21st century, the problem we men, in particular, have is not growing the beard. So let’s take information from the Prophetic Sunnah and see what it says about keeping the beard for men. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) says: " 

Trim the mustache closely, and let the beard flow (Grow)." – Narrated Ibn Umar (R.A.)

in Muslim, Hadith no. 498. Also, according to the four schools of thought, the Hanafi, Shafi, Maaliki, and Hanbali, the cutting of beard is strictly forbidden as it goes against the direct command of our beloved Rasul Allah(Pbuh). In another narration, it’s been mentioned that Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) commanded the Muslims to trim the mustache and leave the beard to grow as it would normally grow in order to differentiate between the Mushriks (Polytheists) and the Muslims. This was also useful in identifying the Muslims from the polytheists during the holy wars of the Battle of Badr and Uhud. As Muslims, we should adhere to the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) because through him, and we can get closer to our beloved Lord, Allah (SubhanuTala).
