The social value determines our course of life. It is a form of behaviours of people who are mostly accepted and admired in society. Social values are the root of all virtues which paved the way for the foundation of a society. But it is a matter of great regret that the social values are vanishing rather very quickly. 

Types Of Social Value:

Social value creates a good society. There are many types of social values in society. Such as:

• Collective responsibility

• Dignity

• Fairness

• Honesty

• Humanity

• Respect 

• Individual rights

• Justice 

This value is very important in society. Without this value, our society is a sink in the darkness.

Importance Of  Social Value:

The social values are our sense of. Social right and wrong. It is an important part of the culture of the society. Social value provides general guidelines for social conduct. They controlled our behaviour. It also helps to develop a society. It is the foundation of society. There are several benefits of social values. Such as:

• The economic progress of a country or a society greatly depends on social value.

• Increase social development.

• Social value teaches us about tolerance and respecting others.

• Increase regional co-operation.

• Raise the love and happiness in their lives.

• Teaches us hard work and perfection.

• Create a strong bond of togetherness 

• Teaches us morality and humanity

Social values are the attitude of a particular social community. It is impossible to describe in words the benefits of social values.

Social Value in past time:

In the past honesty, sincerity, truthfulness, piety, fellow feeling etc were regarded as social values. Adopting unfair means in any work of life was regarded as a great crime in the past. The corrupt persons were hated in society. Everybody work for social peace and order. People were very much conscious of their duties. They tried to keep themselves away from all kinds of crimes and evils. The criminals were hated greatly in society. 

Social Value In Present Time: 

In the present time, social values are vanishing rapidly. Now people who are dishonest and corrupt are in power and position. Criminals are honoured as heroes of society. Nowadays people are afraid of speaking against their misdeeds. Nobody can protest against their injustice. The reason for this is that the present social values are very materialistic. It disturbs social peace and happiness and stops the development works.

So there are 3 questions arise in our mind –

Greed for money and power

Injustice

Lack of morality

Nepotism

Ignorance

Electronic media

Nowadays people run after money, name and fame without giving any thought to right or wrong, good or evil, moral or immoral. The parents are disregarded by their children. Family tries are breaking down. As a result social peace and value downfall as an alarming rate.

What happened in society without social value?

The effects of social values in the present age are very much deplorable. The noble virtues are now banishment. Everywhere there is a sign of degeneration. The evildoers are now held in high esteem because of their wealth and power. Society cost its moral values. The effects of vanishing social values are given below:

• The breaking off of the social bonds, isolationism, individualism.

• Disrespect for seniors.

• Selfishness is spreading everywhere 

• Growing violence against women and children.

•  Smuggle women and children.

•  Increase Child labour.

• Raise adolescent crime.

• Drug addiction.

• Growing corruption.   

• Raise fatal diseases like AIDS.

• growing terrorism.  

These eviscerating in society if social values vanishing. Thus the society and the country turns of threatens.

How can develop social value?

We can take some necessary steps to develop social values. Such as:

1. People should be properly educated.

2. The greedy and selfish attitude should be changed.

3. Parents should give their children moral teaching.

4. The corrupted person should be given exemplary punishment.

5. Good deeds should be encouraged.

Moreover, some necessary steps are given below which help to develop social value.

Religious Harmony : 

Religions play a very crucial and central role in everyone’s life. It teaches us  honesty, integrity and high morals. It inspires us to live a righteous life. Religious harmony is badly needed to ensure the safety of people in a diverse society. It plays a vital role to develop social values.

Raise Humanity : 

Humanity means kindness, love, rationality, mercy and sympathy. It is the greatest virtue of human. It teaches us to help each other. Without other’s help; we can not live in society. It also teaches us should not be cruel to others. Humanity saves the society and the country from all evils like deception, greed, hatred, anger and discontentment. It spreads simplicity, peace and harmony in humankind.

Increase Morality :

Morality is a pre-condition for a decent, successful and disciplined life. It gives is an authentic way by which we can distinguish between good and evil or right and wrong. Gentility, courteous behaviour, politeness, honesty and moral responsibility are the elements of morality. It can point out the principles that govern our behaviour. Without these principles in place, society can not survive for long. A moral person can not do any evil work. Thus morality can save a society of all dangers.

Obeying Social Rules:

Social rules much are followed by everyone as a member of society. Because social rules can create social awareness around us. Also, crime is being stoped or less by obeying social rules. Social rules are universal in human society. 

 At the end of the deliberation, I want to say that, 

 We should try to raise social value for the betterment not only society but also our country. Also, we should try to raise awareness among people by inculcating the habit of doing good deeds and try to maintain moral scruples, detesting vices and corrupt practices.
