Umm, yes, what were you saying? 

“That was a damn good opportunity, man! How could you miss it?”. I am pretty sure that it’s a commonly heard sentence there. Well, especially if you’re someone just as clumsy as me, this is something that people love saying to you. I don’t know about you, but I will either sit and think about that opportunity I missed and then probably move on. Or maybe I will just roll my eyes at whoever said that and also move on. Is that what you do as well? Is that what we are supposed to do? Let’s see what I have for you.

So, can you please start from the very beginning?

Okay, opportunities are chances that you can take to make the most out of them. Opportunities are everywhere. All you got to do is catch it and use it. Yes, it’s that simple. According to Merriam- Webstar, a good chance for advancement or progress is an opportunity. 

How am I supposed to look for opportunities?

That is a rather silly question. Opportunities are not something you need to chase after. They will come to you when it’s time. Fate will always be gifting you with chances. As an example, 2020 was probably not the best year for me. Corona kinda ruined almost every plan I had for this ‘double twenty’ year. But at the same time, this was an opportunity for everyone. Some people decided to make the most out of it. Others like me are still waiting for the vaccine. However, the past is in the past. Just leave all that behind. 2021 is a year full of opportunities. If you work hard, you’ll get the result just as you desired. Or maybe something better. You never know! 

It’s 2021 now. A fresh new year to begin with. I am pretty sure that you have got your new year’s resolution prepared. Even though our hopes are not that high as last year this time, there’s no harm in investing to make ourselves a little bit more productive. Perhaps, a little more active. It’s almost mid-January. Are you still on the track? Will this step help you to achieve your goals? If no, then high five! Neither me. It was me who woke up early on the first day of the new year and wrote down all my resolutions. I wanted to fix my sleep schedule, workout every day, and also eat a little healthier. But ever since that day expired, all I did was eat chips and binged Netflix all day. My laziness is being the greatest obstacle to pursuit all my 2021 dreams. I wanted an opportunity. You can say that I’m blind. I have a big chance in my life in 2021. It seems it took me a while to realize that I already had that opportunity. Isn’t 2021 an opportunity itself? Think again. Sometimes, you won’t have to wait for the opportunity. All you need to do is take a deep breath and think. Just think! 

How to make the most out of it?

Remember the time that random stranger advised you to work hard? Well, it’s another time in your life when a random stranger (me) is trying to yell at you ‘WORK HARD!’. If you want to make the most out of your opportunities, just focus. Focus on your goal and put your heart and soul into your journey towards success. Don’t be distracted by those street dogs barking outside. Keep in mind that procrastinating is your biggest enemy. So, clear your mind and concentrate on what you started. Also, you will be the one to finish it. It might get hard on the way, but if you make it out, you’ll feel lighter and relaxed. And trust me, that is going to be the best feeling ever.

But, what if I miss the opportunity and run out of time?  

Suppose the year 2021 is over. You had a chance to work on your dream project. The year is over, but all your plans and projects are incomplete. A total nightmare! What if you have another chance to finish it? You will regret it if you stop right there. Our mind always links regret to failure. I have a question now. Did you fail? Or is it just because you were unable to complete it? Maybe that was not the same after all. You could succeed if you completed it. Therefore, you should neither regret nor move on. At first, let me tell you, man can never run out of opportunities. No, not until that last breath he is taking. If you missed one, look out for the next with an affirmation in your heart that you’re not going to let go of it this time. When they say there isn’t any way out, there’s always a path. Yes, that is possible. This actively illustrates that you should never give up. 

Sit back and take a deeper breath than the last one you took. Get a paper and a pen. Prepare yourself to analyze all your mistakes and list out your obstacles from the previous year. You always have 50% chances to achieve success. At the same time, you have 50% chances to fail. Well, it’s your choice on which 50 you’ll be aiming at this time.

To sum up, everything I have said before, here are some final words. No matter how easy or hard reaching your goals are, you just have to work hard. Put your best just to get the best. Luck will favor you one day. You have to be focused on that one opportunity. That one opportunity that can transform your life into something you have never imagined. If you can grab that one chance and work for it, it will be your hard work and that opportunity of yours that gave you your desired success. And that’s how you know, it was an opportunity worth working hard for.
